| The annual Clay County Golden Delicious Festival has been canceled for a second year in a row due to COVID-19, widespread in Clay County. Organizers said that in addition to a rise in the spread of COVID-19 in the county, there was not enough available space to host the festival. The four-day event is a celebration of the birthplace of the golden delicious apple and takes place on the third weekend of every September. 2021 Mountain State Forest Festival has been canceled.
