MOST CALHOUN CASES AMONG CHILDREN, SECOND AMONG 31-50 AGE GROUP

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources confirmed 1,744 new COVID-19 cases and 20 additional deaths in its report on Sept. 9.

WV hospitals are approaching their limits.

Calhoun has 19 new cases in the Thursday report. It appears that Calhoun has 208 new cases in the past 13 days.

Most of Calhoun's case are children and then between age group 31-50.

The DHHR confirmed 1,352 new COVID-19 cases and 18 additional deaths in its report on Wednesday.

The DHHR reports there have been 3,523,950 (+20,274) total confirmatory laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 203,403 (+1,744) total cases and 3,189 (+20) total deaths.

Since a mask mandate was lifted last Spring by Gov. Jim Justice, he has yet to call for a new one, leaving 55 counties to make a decision about masking. A number of county school systems have yet to do so.

Justice has been facing public protests against masking, essentially saying it is a violation of personal rights.

A Rex Repass WV Poll gives Justice high marks for his handling of the pandemic.

According to the DHHR dashboard, there are currently 22,972 active cases.
