MONDAY WV COVID-19 UPDATE - 244 New Cases

Health officials reported no new coronavirus deaths in West Virginia on Monday and 244 new virus cases since the last update.

The state Department of Health and Human Resources said in a news release that the death total from the pandemic remained unchanged and was at 2,919.

According to the latest figures, there are currently 1,115 active cases. The positive cumulative test rate was at 4.95%, and the daily positive test rate was at 3.51%.

Hospitalizations had not been updated since Friday and were at 74 with 31 being treated in intensive care and 11 on a ventilator. There have been 161,143 recoveries.
