PARKERSBURG MURDERER ARRESTED AT MACFARLAN

A man wanted for murder in Parkersburg was arrested Sunday in Ritchie County.

Victor Lee Thompson, 43, of Parkersburg, is accused of shooting Darren Jimmie Salaam, 36, of Akron, Ohio, at a home in the 4000 block of 17th Avenue on May 30, according to the Parkersburg Police Department.

Thompson and Kierston Holbrooks-Mick were found hiding in a trailer near McFarland Lane in Ritchie County after a weeklong manhunt.

Kierston Holbrooks-Mick, who was found with Victor Thompson, was arrested for being a fugitive from justice in Washington County, Ohio.

Police said they received information that two people matching the description of Holbrooks-Mick and Thompson were seen in a cabin along Route 47 in Ritchie County on Saturday. A person checking on the cabin for the homeowner found the pair and asked them to leave.

Deputies, Parkersburg police and West Virginia State Police reconvened in the area on Sunday and were able to track the two down.

Holbrooks-Mick was arrested for being a fugitive from justice in Washington County, Ohio.
