The Town of Grantsville is moving ahead to obtain a $3.4 million improvement of the sewage system.

The scope of the project consists of the overall rehabilitation of the Town’s Wastewater Treatment Plant, said Tim Meeks, Project Coordinator for the MOVRV.

The total estimated project cost is $3,400,000 with the only funds secured to date being $285,000 in DEP debt forgiveness (grant) to pay for design and other pre-construction costs.

The project is currently being designed by Dunn Engineers of Charleston, WV.

"I would anticipate design taking nearly a year to complete with the project going to bid in about 18-24 months from now following regulatory review/approval," said Meeks.

Construction should commence in about 24-30 months and take around 18 months to be completed.

A $4 million Grantsville water improvement project is close to kick-off.
