TUESDAY WV COVID-19 REPORT - 277 NEW CASES

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 11 new COVID-19 deaths in the state on Tuesday and 277 new positive cases.

The state has had 2,707 deaths from the virus since the start of the pandemic.

The active case total in West Virginia decreased by 101 on Tuesday, with 6,854 cases. The overall positive test rate was 5.24% while the daily positive test rate was 3.42%, both decreases from the previous day.

As of Monday, hospitalizations were at 254, including 80 people in intensive care and 17 people on ventilators.

There have been 530,328 West Virginians receive at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccines while 355,892 have been fully vaccinated.

There have been 134,449 COVID-19 recoveries in the state since the pandemic started.
