Two red maple trees growing from the same stump in a
Calhoun County woodlot. The smaller of the trees has grown
together with the larger one to form a single stem.
Richardson reports the number of squirrels and chipmunks in the woods is completely off the charts. "Like nothing I can recall for many, many years, which means that there will be more hawks and owls than usual this fall", he said.
