A Freed, Big Springs oldtimer has passed.
Hazel Snider was 89.
Hazel was proud of her family, the Freed community and her 125 year-old-homestead along Leading Creek, often recalling the one-room Bell School, the historic Freed Post Office that now resides at Heritage Park, and the old stores and houses that once graced the area.
She was most proud of the Hoy Chapel Church of which she was a long-time member.
She maintained the Snider Homestead, "They all come to my house for every holiday. It's quite a bunch, about forty."
"I thought it was a great place. Everyone was friendly. I've had a great life here, talked, laughed and had a good time," she said.
"My husband and I never even had a serious fight. Think about that."
