2008: FOUR-POINT SPIKED DOE WAS KILLED ON CRUMMIES CREEK

(11/25/2024)

2008 - A four-point doe deer was shot in the woods above the Right Fork of Crummies Creek Friday.

"The hunter who got the deer thought he shot a nice buck with a small rack until he went to field dress the animal," said forester Russ Richardson.

"The deer was large, very healthy and appeared to have been eating lots of corn," he said.

Spiked doe occurs in about one in every 20 thousand deer.
