Deep Valley, sometimes known as "No. 7 School," was located on a steep knoll above the right fork of Barnes Run, not far from the Village of Hur. The photograph was made about 1933, during the great depression.

Kids had to climb a really steep hill to get to the school, but back then, all transportation was by foot and physical education was not a requirement to promote health.
