Dear Editor,

I would like to thank all the players, coaches, parents, friends, family, and community members that made this past Saturday a wonderful Opening Day for Calhoun County Youth T-ball. Nine teams took the fields at Arnoldsburg on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. to officially kickoff the 2003 T-ball season. Approximately 120 boys and girls ages 4-8 participated in one of, if not the largest, opening days for T-ball in Calhoun County.

We are very excited this year to have such enthusiastic players. The number of participants in the league has nearly doubled from last year. It is our goal that our players learn teamwork, sportsmanship, and the basic fundamentals of baseball.

Many thanks go out to all those who made Saturday such a success for our youth. Many coaches, parents, stores, and businesses contributed time, money, and food.

Games are played on Monday and Wednesday evenings beginning at 6 p.m. at the following fields: Arnoldsburg, Pleasant Hill, County Park, Industrial Park, and Upper West Fork. Please continue to show your support for the players of the Arrows, Bears, Express, Eagles, Indians, Cobras, Rebels, Cowboys, and Wildcats.

Jeannie Montgomery
Calhoun County T-ball Coordinator
