Calhoun County wrestlers are Little Kanawha Conference champions one more time.

The Red Devils defended their title from a year ago at Wirt County High School by holding off Braxton County.

The Red Devils had a 154 to 150.5 victory against the runner-up Eagles.

Calhoun County captured four of its five finals matches, the only loss coming at 103 where Bryan Gungle fell 8-7 to Judd Billings of Ravenswood.

Ray Burges 6-1 victory against Chris Miller of Wirt County in the 171-pound class made the win.

Justin Ashley (125) was the first Red Devil to claim a crown, over Williamstown's Casey Biddle, 3-1.

Red Devil Eric Metz left no doubt about the championship in the 145-pound class, with 56 seconds to pin Jeremy Wince of Ritchie County.

Jeff Morris claimed the other title for the Red Devils, earning a tight 3-2 decision against Yellowjacket Alan Tracewell.
