THURSDAY UPDATE:THIRTEEN CHS WRESTLERS OFF TO STATE TOURNEY - Fire Rekindles, Court Opens, Wirt Seeks Gov. Wise, Captio Visits And Weather Turning Nasty


6 A.M. UPDATE - Calhoun High will "send off" thirteen wrestlers to the state wrestling tournament in Huntington at 9 a.m. today. The CHS team is one of only four in the state qualifying 13 wrestlers. "It is possibly the only one qualifying all its wrestlers," according to administrator Roger Propst. The local wrestlers have won three invitational tournaments, including the LK Conference Tournament and Calhoun Invitational.It has been an impressive year for the players and their coaches.

Fire rekindled at a Wigner Street house at 1:15 a.m. and the Grantsville VFD returned to the scene for 45 minutes.

New Congresswoman Shelly Moore Capito will have a town meeting for the public beginning at 9 a.m. today, listening to concerns at the courthouse. The Calhoun Commissioners will meet with her at 10:30 a.m.

Circuit Court opens today at 9 a.m. hearing fourteen criminal cases and three civil cases.

The Wirt County Commissioners will be meeting with Gov. Bob Wise concerning dire needs for the county to survive.

Check the weather. It might get nasty.
