Boy Drowned in Steer Creek

As we go to press word is received of a sad accident in which Cecil Sands, a young boy, was drowned in Steer Creek near the residence of Louis Vannoy.  The boy in company with some other boys was in swimming late Tuesday afternoon and got beyond his depth in a whirlhole.  The body was recovered within twenty minutes, but all resuscitation efforts failed.  The boy was about eight years old and made his home with Mr. Vannoy.
