Open Letter from Pastor Greg Swisher

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

As pastor of the First Baptist Church of Grantsville, West Virginia, I wish to extend a personal greeting an invitation to all people in our community and surrounding communities to our revival services, beginning September 30, 2007, and continuing through October 3, 2007. Evening services will begin at 7 p.m., and there will be special music and exciting Spirit-filled preaching of God's Word each night.

The theme for this revival is Biblical Peace-making. It is no secret in our community that there have been conflicts in our church in the past, which have resulted in fracture of the body of Christ. That is most regrettable, unfortunate, and heartbreaking. Although I was not here at the time, I have an idea of the pain it caused, and on behalf of the church, as its current pastor, I wish to extend a heartfelt and sincere apology to all persons affected during those times of turmoil. In keeping with that apology, we at First Baptist are extending the ministry of reconciliation to our community, in that we desire to follow the Scripture which tells us-"If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men (Romans 12:18)." Therefore, we invite you, our community, to come to this revival which is designed to show us how we can fulfill that verse of Scripture. This is not an attempt to proselyte, or steal members from any other church-there is no hidden agenda. We simply desire to be reconciled in all of our relationships, in order that we may all work together for the glory of God.

Please come, and be a part of these services, and I am confident you will be richly blessed.

May God richly bless each of you.

In the Love of Christ Jesus,

Pastor Greg Swisher
