There Is No Global Warming

The highway's clogged with crawling cars
Each wretched weekday morning;
Exhaust fumes rise into the skies
Where smog is always churning;
Tempers rise, and fights erupt,
As engines are a'boiling;
"Freeways are free, no price to pay;
There is no global warming."

Wildfires scorch the land unchecked.
The radio this morning
Described another nuclear dump
With miles of forest burning.
"There is no danger, no real threat;
The fire is quickly turning."
It's hell on earth, and what's it worth?
"There is no global warming."

While corn is stunted in the field
And locusts are a'swarming,
Lorn farmers rise and curse the sun
At every dry day's dawning;
They scan the skies for some relief,
Some sign the weather's turning.
"That's nature's way," some people say.
"There is no global warming."

Who are the moneyed messengers
Who challenge every warning
That life imposes limits sure
On every creature borning?
What won't they say to stay the day
The nations are reforming
And cease to buy their greedy lie
That there's no global warming?
