Response to ... KANSAS CHURCH MEMBERS WILL PROTEST WV MINERS MEMORIAL SERVICE - "God Killed Them And Cast Them Into Hell" ... 01-09-2006

Dear Editor

I'd be afraid to sign the Name of God as the responsible party for the Website of the "so-called" Baptist church on the Internet. And by the way, I am a Baptist, and that is by no means the doctrine of good Baptist people.

If that organization wants to spread that heretic garbage, let them get their own denomination, Baptist is taken.

I praise God for America that everyone is free to have their own opinion. Even those folks from Kansas have the right to an opinion, but they don't have the right to inflict heartache and misery on people that did nothing to deserve what happened.

The Lord did say vengeance was His. But to take this scripture out of the context for which it was given was not the intention of God.

In the books of Romans, Chapter 12 the verses leading up to that scripture says this beginning in verse 14:

"Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.

Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.

If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

God said to bless them. I missed that on their website. God said to live peaceably, how can you call protesting a funeral peace?

According to them it's the judgment of God. Praise God He doesn't give me what I deserve. And those Kansas folks better be praising God they don't get what they deserve. Because I have a feeling that if they would examine their life, and line it up with our instructions from Christ how to live it, they would fall far short of what God intends.

When Jesus got outwardly upset, it wasn't with the sinners, it was with the religious folks. Christ loved the sinners, it was the self-righteous bunch He couldn't stomach.

The sin in the Old and New Testament, is still sin. God did not change His mind regardless of what "politically correct people," might say. I'm not arguing that point. But to say that God would use that language and that attitude toward a lost soul is a lie, and nothing short of it.

Christ came to save the world, not destroy it. Unfortunately, a lot of His people are doing that.
