Long-gone trips on the Little Kanawha

Long-gone trips on the Little Kanawha Dear Bob,

Enjoyed the story in the Hur Hearld about Creston. When I was five years old my mother and I rode a paddle boat on our way to Parkersburg from Grantsville. We ate lunch at Creston.

I got very excited as there was a boat named Juanita docked there. Many years later I saw the Juanita at Charleston at the stern wheel regatta.

I was told it was the same boat, just overhauled. I think we got off the boat at Mineral Wells, walked a ways down a railroad track, caught a bus into Parkersburg, took a train to Clarksburg, changed to a street car to Fairmont, where Uncle Charley picked us up in his car around midnight and took us on to Morgantown to my grandmother's house.

How's that for a trip?

Thanks again for the story.
