Don't Be Duped

(10/15/2004)

Dear Editor,

I am a former Calhoun County resident, and subscribe to the Hur Herald via the Internet. I noted the article regarding the Democratic headquarters there, and the upcoming dinner.

I find it disheartening to think that citizens are duped into believing the propaganda in the movie Farenheit 911. Michael Moore is a proven liar, and this movie is far from a documentary.

I don't know who will win this election, but George W. Bush has my vote. I am against abortion. In the years since Roe v. Wade, 40 million babies have been aborted. We have lost a generation to the practice of murder.

I am against gay marriage. Marriage is between a man and a woman. That is how God intended it from the beginning.

I am for the Second Amendment right to bear arms. We have to be able to defend ourselves against those who would hurt us, and from a government who would try to impose control over it's citizens.

I am proud that our President is not afraid to discuss his faith in God, and the power of prayer. He says it has sustained him through the dark hours. How many of us can say the same?

I am proud of a President who does what he says, and does not allow the opinions of other coutries to influence the defense of our country. France, Germany and Russia are not allies. They were bought by Saddam Hussein, and the blood of many innocent Iraqis are on their heads. War is difficult, but I am glad we are fighting the terrorists there, and not here.

Don't be duped by rhetoric. Find out the truth for yourself, and vote your conscience. George Bush deserves four more years!
