CALHOUN WINS OPENER OVER WIRT 13-5 - Defeats Roane 8-7 Last Night

Calhoun Varsity Softball hit the road and traveled to neighboring Wirt County Wednesday evening to open their 2004 season.

The Red Devils overcame early game jitters to battle back from a two to five deficit and score 11 unanswered runs, posting their first win of the 2004 season 13 to 5.

Dani Church allowed two hits while striking out eight.

Calhoun Varsity Softball traveled to Roane County Thursday evening. In a hard fought contest. Calhoun upped the record to 2-0, beating Roane County.

Calhoun never trailed in the game, building an 8-4 lead. Roane rallied late in the contest but the Red Devil defense prevailed to preserve a 8-7 win.

Calhoun JV Softball played the early game Thursday and won their first game of the season beating Roane County JV 23-9.

Next game date is March 27th at Clay, where Calhoun will play Clay and Williamstown in a varsity double header. Game times are 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
