SCHOOL BOARD ADOPTS DECISION TO TEST ALL STUDENTS IN EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVTIES

Dear Editor,

Regarding the drug-testing program being initiated by the Board of Education.

I hope they begin the program by testing the Board members (and administrators, and teachers).

Is this testing idea a local version of the Ashcroft Patriot Act? I hope you will test for meat-fat consumption, smoking and chewing tobacco, and alcohol drinking, for these are the drugs which cause cancer.

So this began with "a student athlete who was before them on drug-related charges."

Now many other students are going to be lumped together with the one who was on drugs. How can you pick on so-called "extra curricular" activities?

I hope the entire student body strikes over this policy and refuses to attend school until the august Board of Education rescinds this stupid policy.
