Calhoun County High School's powerful wrestling team ran over the competition last weekend to capture the Ritchie County Duals and make amends for losing a match to Bridgeport earlier in the week.

At the Ritchie County match Calhoun was not challenged with only St. Marys and Tyler Consolidated able to stay within 25 points of the Red Devils.

Calhoun beat St, Marys 48-27 while beating Tyler 51-30. The Red Devils also beat Ritchie County 66-18; Ravenswood 63-12 and Parkersburg South 'B' team 50-18.

Calhoun senior Justin Ashley, who is 8-0 on the season, was named the outstanding wrestler of the duals tournament. Eric Metz also kept his unbeaten streak alive with three wins at the duals to go 6-0 on the season.

The Red Devils went into a match with a rare loss in a dual match it suffered in the season-opening Robert C. Byrd Quadrangular held last Wednesday.

The Red Devils beat St. Marys 57-16 and RCB 45-33 before falling to Bridgeport 45-32.

On the season Calhoun is 7-1 in dual matches heading into this weekend's tournament at Point Pleasant.
