West Virginia added 1,507 new COVID-19 cases Saturday as the state’s positive test rate continues to rise.

The Friday report says 2,500 new cases.

Cases continue to rise in Calhoun.

The overall positive test rate moved to 4.94%, up from 4.90% the previous day, according to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. The daily positive test rate was 6.69%.

The new positive cases pushed the state’s active total to 26,834.

There have been 1,373 deaths linked to the coronavirus in the Mountain State.

There are currently 810 people hospitalized with COVID-19, including 211 in intensive care and 92 people on ventilators.
