WVDHHS COVID-19 SUNDAY REPORT: 280 NEW CASES

Health officials in West Virginia confirmed new 280 coronavirus cases Sunday.

The new cases push the state’s active total to 4,940, according to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources.

The overall positive test rate remained the same at 2.83% Sunday while the daily positive test rate finished at 2.56%.

Calhoun has had eight active cases.

There are currently 173 residents hospitalized with the coronavirus, including 64 in intensive care and 28 on ventilators. Hospitalizations and ICU admissions are down from the previous day.

No new deaths were confirmed in the state Sunday morning, keeping the state’s death toll from the virus at 399.
