Fire destroyed the home of David Cain early Sunday morning, about 12:30 a.m.
The residence was located at Big Bend, about six miles west of Grantsville.
The Grantsville and Arnoldsburg VFDs responded to the call.
The dwelling was fully engulfed when firemen arrived, as the temperature was dropping into the low 30s.
