UPDATE: SATURDAY WV COVID-19 REPORT: CALHOUN HAS NEW ACTIVE CASE - 206 New WV Cases, Friday Had 382 Highest Number

The DHHR confirmed 206 new cases of COVID-19 across the state in Saturday morning’s numbers. The daily positivity test rate dropped to 1.70%.

Friday's numbers reached a record high in WV at 382.

Calhoun has a new case Saturday, with at least 11 active cases.

Reports given to Hur Herald indicate a student at the Little Kanawha Christian School at Brooksville has the virus, with the school being closed until October 19.

Spikes continue in Wirt, Roane, Clay, and Gilmer.

There were five deaths added including a 78-year old male from Mercer County, a 92-year old female from Kanawha County, a 79-year old male from Kanawha County, a 96-year old female from Fayette County, and a 71-year old male from Kanawha County. There are 173 people hospitalized in West Virginia with COVID-19, 60 of them are in ICU while 27 are being treated on ventilators.
