WEDNESDAY WV COVID-19 REPORT - 156 CASES, FIVE DEATHS

The state reached 350 COVID-19 deaths in numbers released Wednesday by the state Department of Health and Human Resources.

Five new deaths were added including a 56-year old male from Fayette County, a 68-year old male from Kanawha County, a 95-year old male from Boone County, an 81-year old female from Putnam County, and a 68-year old male from Kanawha County.

There were 156 new cases added from Tuesday to Wednesday. Total active cases are now at 3,991 with 169 people hospitalized.

The Rt rate of spread value remains below 1 at .94, only 10 dates have a lower estimate. The recent change in the metrics has improved the statistic.

Barbour, Kanawha and Boone counties remain the only counties in the “orange” category on the COVID-19 county alert map.

WV_DHHR reports as of 10:00 a.m., September 30, 2020, there have been 561,113 total confirmatory laboratory results received for #COVID19, with 15,848 total cases and 350 deaths.
