| The Little Kanawha Area Community Foundation is pleased to announce that $43,545 in scholarship support was recently awarded to students from Calhoun, Gilmer, and Wirt counties to assist in their pursuit of post-secondary education.
These scholarships are made possible by the generous support of individuals and businesses who believe in the importance of education and who have partnered with the Foundation to create permanent scholarship funds.
Scholarships awarded and recipients include:
Chester H. Bruce Memorial Scholarship - Shawna Ashby and Trenton Richards
DLS Educational Foundation Scholarship - Alexis Petrovsky, Loden Campbell, Sarah Cunningham, and Zachary Yoke
James H. Roberts Athletic Scholarship - Zachary Yoke
LKACF Scholarship - Maggie Bailey, Mikela Long, and Sydney Woods
Lu-VE Foundation Scholarship - Kassidy Root
Marbie McCartney Smith Memorial Scholarship - Megan Harding
Roscoe R. Daniell Memorial Scholarship - Daniel McCloy
The Little Kanawha Area Community Foundation is an affiliate of the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation (PACF). The PACF awards scholarships throughout its eleven-county service area; and fourteen area students were recipients of PACF scholarships this year:

Kenneth D. & Katherine D. Davis Memorial Scholarship - Andrew Saho
Larry D. and Margaret D. Brown Scholarship - Zane Cogar and Madisyn Furr
Mary K. Smith Rector Scholarship - Zane Cogar, Savanna Garcia, and Hunter Lemon
As the cost for post-secondary education continues to rise, the Little Kanawha Area Community Foundation encourages individuals concerned about the academic future of our region’s young people to partner with the Foundation. Individuals can volunteer on the Foundation’s Scholarship Fund Committee, donate to build a current scholarship fund, or create a new scholarship fund.
