West Virginia added 23 positive COVID-19 cases Tuesday, but the number of active cases declined and the positive test result rate remained at 1.67%.

A Clay woman was one of two deaths reported Tuesday.

The state Department of Health and Human Resources said in a news release that the state had a total of 2,593 cases as of 5 p.m.

Two new deaths were reported Tuesday, and the total remained at 92.

More than 154,800 tests have been given. There have been 1,813 recoveries, and there are currently 688 active cases.

Currently, there are 18 hospitalized, with four in intensive care and three on a ventilator.
