LITTLE KANAWHA BUS HIRING FULL TIME DRIVER -(e.8/23/20) - Little Kanawha Bus is now hiring a full time driver to work for of Calhoun County. Must be willing to work in Gilmer County and make a trip to Parkersburg if needed. Minimum Qualifications: Individual must be 23 years of age or older. Pay starting at $9.00 per hour. Class D license required or be able to secure a Class "D" license and be insurable by the insuring company. Individual must be able to pass a physical examination and be certified medically acceptable for work by our examining physician. Individual must be able to pass a national back ground check with no findings. Individual must have no serious accidents in the past five years and have a clean driving record. Individual must be able to pass a Pre-Hire Drug test and enter a Random Drug Pool with other LKB employees upon their employment. Individual must be willing to take training in CPR, First Aide, PASS and other trainings requested. Individual must be knowledgeable in the areas of Calhoun, Roane and Gilmer and drive in Clarksburg, Flatwoods, Weston, Charleston and Parkersburg. WIC ANNOUNCEMENT - The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Nutrition Program is a supplemental food program for pregnant, post-partum, or breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to the age of five. WIC provides food, breastfeeding support and nutrition education to families in Calhoun County. JARVIS REUNION CANCELED - The annual Cal Jarvis Family reunion scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 5 is cancelled this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

RICHARDS REUNION CANCELED - The Wesley and Barbara Richards reunion scheduled August 22nd has been canceled, due to the pandemic. I pray that everyone stays well and hope to see you next year. Thank you Arlene Sampson.



SOBRIETY CHECK POINT - The West Virginia State Police, in conjunction with the Commission on Drunk Driving Prevention, will be conducting a Sobriety Check Point on Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m. The checkpoint will be held on US Rt. 119 in Spencer, WV. The purpose of this checkpoint is to deter impaired drivers, as well as to educate the public about the dangers of driving an automobile while impaired by alcohol and/or drugs. We urge the motoring public to assist the State Police in their efforts to stop driving under the influence incidents by reporting impaired drivers. If you have any questions please contact F/Sgt. J.
