WV HAS 16 CORONAVIRUS CASES SUNDAY NIGHT

(03/23/2020)
West Virginia added four new coronavirus cases to its total Sunday night, including two new cases in Kanawha County.

According to the Department of Health and Human Resources, the state now has 16 cases. There have been 444 negative tests and four tests are still pending.

The other new cases Sunday are in Monongalia and Jefferson counties.

The West Virginia DHHR said all of the cases are travel related.

These numbers include positive and negative tests from the state’s public health lab, commercial labs and hospitals.

Some healthcare professionals say the ability to get tested is still slowed by a lengthy criteria, while state hospital officials are contradicting political announcements about having essential supplies and equipment.

Other state health experts believe the virus has been in the state for sometime, and the system has not caught up with it.
