CALHOUN BUSINESSMAN-MUSICIAN ALVIN PARSONS HAS DIED

Calhoun businessman and well-known musician, Alvin Lee Parsons, 68, of Arnoldsburg has died.

He was the owner of the "Y" Motel and had retired from Asplundh Tree Company and Wilson Mold and Machine.

Acquaintances said he was a "drummer's drummer," playing with "Nashville Bound" and "County Line Country."

A private family service will be held Sunday, March 22, at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc. with Rev. Richard Westfall officiating. Interment will follow in Minnora Cemetery.

A celebration of life will be held at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Arnoldsburg, to be announced at a later date, when restrictions on large public gatherings have been lifted.
