Glacier National Park - Rocky Mountains Montana

Submitted by Gina Cano-Stump,
Assistant Principal CMHS

There will be a planning meeting for the Amtrak Montana/Glacier National Park trip on Tuesday, March 3 at 4:00 pm in the CMHS Commons Area. See Mr. Clarkson for details or Email: sclarkso@k12.wv.us

Calhoun County Middle-High School and Mr. Clarkson are proud to offer an opportunity for Student, Parents, and the Community to travel out west to Glacier National Park.

This is an exciting opportunity to tour Glacier National Park and see the western United States. Glacier National Park is a 1,583 square mile Wilderness area in Montana's Rocky Mountains, with glacier-carved peaks and valleys running to the Canadian border.

It's crossed by the mountainous Going-to-the-Sun Road. Among more than 700 miles of hiking trails, it has a route to photogenic Hidden Lake. Other activities include backpacking, cycling, and camping. Diverse wildlife ranges from mountain goats to grizzly bears.

The school and community trip to Glacier National Park is tentatively scheduled for June 17th-24th, 2020 for 6-7 days including lodging for two nights in Montana. It takes about two days by train to arrive at Glacier National Park. This would allow two days to tour the million-acre park.

If you are interested in participating please provide your contact information to Scott Clarkson:   sclarkso@K12.wv.us

The goal is to have fun, relax, and see the grandeur of the American West.
