Calhoun's first real winter snow blanked the area with 2"-4" of snow on February 7, 2020.

The snow did not cause much of problem for drivers, but clung to trees to create a winter wonderland, while oldtimers recall snow coming in October and staying on the ground through March

It was on a day that Antarctica likely recorded a 65 degree temperature with 87 percent of glaciers along the west coast of the peninsula having retreated over that 50-year span, with most showing “an accelerated retreat” over the last 12 years.

The Trump administration has withdrawn from the International Climate Accords, maintaining that climate change is a hoax.
