DOMINION ENERGY AWARDS CALHOUN EMS WITH $10,000 GRANT - EMT Training For Calhoun Residents

Dominion Energy awarded Calhoun EMS, Inc. a grant in the amount of $10,000 for equipment and personnel acquisition on January 16th. Calhoun EMS, Inc. plans to use the grant funds toward the cost of an EMT course to be hosted in the county.

Calhoun's EMS Board of Directors said, "We are very appreciative of Dominion Energy's commitment to the citizens of Calhoun County. We hope to use these grant funds to help pay toward EMT course tuition for local citizens who want to begin a new career with Calhoun EMS, Inc."

"It is our hope that Calhoun EMS, Inc. not only serves as a superior emergency medical services agency for the people of Calhoun County, but that it will also be a vehicle for local citizens to obtain an education in emergency medical services and find a new career with employment right here at home."

In the past year, Calhoun EMS, Inc. has obtained three ambulances at no or minimal cost to the agency and purchased over $30,000 worth of medical equipment at no cost to the agency through grants and donations.

The Board of Directors is composed of Ron Blankenship, Bruce Fitzwater, County Commissioner Michael Hicks, Paul Hagemann, and Gary Knight. 911/OES Director, Julie Sears also serves as the part-time director of Calhoun EMS, Inc.
