CALHOUN SCHOOLS WILL MOVE GRADE 5 BACK FROM CM-HS TO ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

(01/16/2020)
Calhoun Schools will likely move Grade 5 from Calhoun Middle-High School back to elementary schools, Pleasant Hill and Arnoldsburg Elementary.

Superintendent Kelli Whytsell said, "The community meeting and the majority of comments were in favor of moving the students back to the elementary schools."

Whytsell says the issue will be on a board agenda in this Spring.

Whytsell said, "I appreciate all the parents and students that came out to the Community Meeting and the emails that I have received. Parents can still email their thoughts to me at kwhytsel@k12.wv.us.

According to a news story in 1998, when Calhoun Middle-High School was opened, the moving of Grade 5-6 to the school was related to getting student population numbers for its construction.
