Ms. Jeannie McKown Winchester, a graduate of Arnoldsburg Elementary and Calhoun High School, returned to participate after a long, honorable military career with the US Air Force and a list of achievements a mile long. (See Biographical Information At Foot Of Article)
She raised awareness of the work and sacrifices of America's soldiers, taking time to honor two of her Calhoun teachers, Scottie "Chip" Westfall, retired Arnoldsburg teacher, and Marvin Stemple, retired Calhoun High science teacher.
Retired Arnoldsburg teacher Scottie "Chip" Westfall (above) introduced Winchester, recalling her leadership skills and early abilities in grade school, she also recognized him as a dutiful and supportive teacher, she then honored her high school teacher Marvin Stemple (right) for his contributions.
The students of Arnoldsburg Elementary School raised the roof of their gym in a monumental "shout out" to the veterans attending the ceremony saying "Thank You."

Then each of the classes gave performances of words and music, honoring the nations soldiers and veterans.

CALHOUN NATIVE MAKES CONTRIBUTION TO BIGGER WORLD
Ms. Jeannie Winchester was selected in March of 2019 as the Product Director for Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS), Project Manager General Fund Enterprise Business System (PM GFEBS), Sensitive Activities (SA).
In this position, her responsibilities will include identifying and implementing new technologies across the GFEBS-SA product. She will also manage the design, build, test and deployment of systems across PM GFEBS.
Ms. Winchester enlisted in the Air Force in 1989. After her basic training, she attended Technical School for Computer Communications Operations, at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi. For her first duty assignment she was assigned to the 5th Communications Squadron at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota. During this assignment her positions were based on Information Technology (IT).
While at Minot she had a special assignment to the Communications Security (COMSEC) Communications Office where she was responsible for the accountability and distribution of classified documents. She had a follow-on remote assignment to the 303rd Intelligence Squadron at Osan Air Base, South Korea as a Data Center Operations Specialist. Ms. Winchester was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1995.
From 1997 to 2011, Ms. Winchester served as Department of Defense (DoD) Contractor specializing in IT Infrastructure and Cyber Security. From 1997 — 1999, she supported the 60th Medical Group as an IT Specialist at Travis Air Force Base, Military Hospital. In 2001, she rejoined the DoD in support of the 374th Medical Group, Yokota Air Base, Japan. In 2004, Ms. Winchester relocated to Frederick, Maryland in support of the Joint Medical Logistics Functional Development Center (JMLFDC) Joint Medical Asset Repository (JMAR) project on Fort Detrick. In 2008, she joined the Network Enterprise Center (NEC) on Fort Detrick initially supporting cyber security and later became the Program Manager. While supporting the NEC, Ms. Winchester accepted a DoD Civilian position and became the Chief of the Server Support Division.
In 2011, Ms. Winchester accepted a position at PEO EIS where she was assigned to the Medical Communications for Combat Casualty Care (MC4) Program, where she served on many short deployments to Afghanistan and Kuwait. In 2014, she joined the 06 staff in support of the Cyber Security team. In 2016, she was hired as the Program Officer for the Worldwide Technical Control Improvement Program (WWTCIP). In 2018, Ms. Winchester was hired as the Deputy Product Manager for Cyber Analytics and Detection (PdM CAD).
During her tenure overseas, Ms. Winchester obtained a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from University of Maryland University College and a Masters of Art in Organizational Management from University of Phoenix. She holds the professional certifications of Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Project Management Professional (PMP). She is also Acquisition certified at Level III for Program Management and Information Technology thru Defense Acquisition University (DAU).
