Electric service was disrupted to parts of Calhoun early Thursday morning, with most service not restored to mid-afternoon.

A large tree fell across power lines on Phillips Run about two miles south of Grantsville, causing a response from police, the Grantsville VFD and the highway department.

School was canceled early Thursday at Calhoun Middle-High School because of electrical problems. School had already been canceled for Pleasant Hill Elementary School due to air conditioning issues.

With no rain, the temperature was striking 94 degrees Thursday afternoon.
