| Calhoun Circuit Court was in session Monday and Tuesday with Judge Anita Harold Ashley presiding.
Brian Burrows appeared and entered a plea of guilty to grand larceny, a felony, and to unlawful taking of a vehicle, a misdemeanor. He will be sentenced on October 8th, according to Prosecutor Shannon Johnson.
Eric Blake appeared for a hearing on his motion to reconfigure bond and to remove home confinement. The court denied his motion.
Dylan Wagoner appeared for a hearing on his motion to lower bond to allow him to seek rehabilitation treatment. The court granted the motion and lowered his bond to five thousand dollars surety with a condition of home confinement. If he leaves treatment or is not accepted to treatment, he is to return to incarceration, according to prosecutor Johnson.
Robert Beckett appeared for Arraignment after he had been arrested on a capias. His case was set for pre-trial hearing on September 17, 2019 and for jury trial on November 5, 2019.
Gary Nicholson appeared for a hearing on the state’s petition for forfeiture of assets and for a motion to reconfigure bond. The court set this matter for an evidentiary hearing on the state’s petition on September 5 and denied his motion for modification of bond.
Rick Boatright entered a plea of guilty to two counts of illegal possession of explosive devices, both felonies. He will be sentenced on October 8th.
Matthew Freshour appeared for a pre-trial hearing. His case will come on for trial on October 8th.
Travis Moore’s case was continued at he had just been appointed a new attorney within the last week based on his request for a new lawyer.
Seth Wease’s case was continued until a competency evaluation could be completed.
Christopher Scott Lamp and Loralee Brown Lamp entered guilty pleas to attempt to commit a felony, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor. Jedidiah Stutler entered guilty pleas to attempt to commit a felony, a felony, and to possession of an unauthorized access device, a misdemeanor. This was related to the theft of Donna Erlewine’s wallet at Grantsville Foodland on August 1, 2018. They will be sentenced on October 8th.
Prosecutor Johnson said Grover Knight entered a no contest plea to attempted murder, a felony; burglary, a felony; assault during the ommission of a felony, a felony; battery on an officer, a misdemeanor; and obstructing an officer, a misdemeanor.
Knight was ordered to the custody of the Department of Corrections for a sixty day diagnostic evaluation to aid the court in sentencing. He will be sentenced at a later date after the evaluation is complete. This incident related to the home invasion and stabbing of Janet Patterson on September 24, 2018.
Zachary Bell entered a guilty plea to fleeing from an officer with reckless disregard, a felony; fleeing from an officer by foot, a misdemeanor; driving while license suspended, a misdemeanor; and possession, a misdemeanor. He will be sentenced on October 8th.
Robby Lamp entered a guilty plea to possession with the intent to deliver methamphetamine, a felony. He will be sentenced on October 8th. Related to the same incident, Patty Sampson entered a guilty plea to possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, a felony, and possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. The court will hold a status hearing and decide if it will accept a plea on October 8th.
The court also heard sixteen juvenile cases.
