MASON DEATH - One person has been taken into custody after a body was found at a home in the community of Letart in Mason County, according to sheriff Greg Powers.

Acting on a tip early Friday evening, the sheriff’s department checked on the house on Rt. 62 near the intersection of Sandhill Road and found a man’s body.

A woman who lived there was taken into custody. There is no word on her name or if she has been charged with anything.

Sheriff Powers says that the case is being investigated as a homicide.

BANK ROBBERY - Police in Fairmont are investigating a bank robbery of the BC Bank on East Park Avenue.

According to authorities, at 10:48 a.m. Monday a man entered the bank and demanded money and threatened workers with a weapon. The suspect left the bank on foot and possibly rode off on a red and white cruiser-style motorcycle in the direction of I-79.

The suspect is described as white, 40 to 50-years-old, 6-feet to 6-feet 2-inches tall, salt and pepper hair with a goatee, grey long sleeve shirt, blue jeans, black Under Armour baseball cap, blue bandanna and tennis shoes.
