A woman already in jail for causing thousands of dollars in damages to an apartment after she was evicted got another sentence after a friend slipped drugs to her in the courtroom.
Heather Dawn Starcher, 30. was living in a second-floor apartment on Main Street in Spencer when her landlord kicked her out. As she was leaving. police said she plugged up all the drains and left the water running, causing over $l2,000 dollars in damage to the vacant restaurant below.
She eventually entered a plea to a felony destruction of property charge and was placed on five years probation. She also was ordered to make restitution to the landlord and his insurance company.
Roane Circuit Judge Craig Tatterson ordered that Starcher enroll in a drug treatment program while on probation but when she was kicked out of the program for consuming alcohol he revoked her probation and sent her to prison for l to 3 years.
At a hearing in Roane Circuit Court on those charges. Timothy Lee Tallhammer, 29, of Country Lane, Mount Zion allegedly slipped Starcher three capsules that were confiscated by a bailiff.
Tests showed the capsules contained meth, codeine and Clonazepam.
Tallhammer was also arrested. Both appeared in court last Thursday and entered pleas.
Stancher pled guilty to possession of meth by an inmate and waived her right to a presentence investigation.
Tatterson sentenced her to an additional 1 to 5 years, which will start after she completes the first sentence.
Tallhammer pled guilty to delivery of meth to an inmate and will be sentenced Sept. 18, when he will be facing a maximum of l-to-5 years.
