RT. 16 REOPENED AT 6 PM MONDAY AFTER 3 1/2 HOUR CLOSURE

A large asphalt truck caught a Frontier phone cable, pulling it down on Rt. 16, then crashing on its side.

Multiple lines are down on the roadway while others are dangling.

The highway has been blocked by lines since 2:30 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Country Lanes.

It was reported that the driver was not injured.

State Police and the Calhoun Sheriffs Department responded.

Efforts are being made to open the road, now requiring detour.
