Arnoldsburg Elementary School had the honor of West Virginia's, First Lady, Cathy Justice, visiting on Tuesday May 14.

The First Lady was welcomed by Principal Charles Thomas, Calhoun Board of Education Superintendent, Kelli Whytsell, COO of Student Services Jeannie Bennett, Board President Jenna Jett, Board Vice-President Richard Kirby and Board member Horst Motz and AES students from kindergarten and 1st grade classes along with school staff.

After enjoying lunch with the students, student representatives Braylea McKown, Joel Beall and Gwen Sampson gave the First Lady a tour of the school and greenhouses.

A short assembly displaying Communities in Schools which is the nation's leading dropout prevention organization, helping kids stay in school and prepare for life followed the tour. During the assembly Amanda Lamb and Allison Beall's first grade classes performed "A Million Dreams" from the movie "The Greatest Showman," with singing and sign language.

The school then presented First Lady Justice with a hanging basket of flowers from the high tunnels and one of the famous "Granny Annie" tomatoes.
