Calhoun Deputy C.J. Myers has officially returned to duty, according to Sheriff Jeff Starcher.

In response to an inquiry from the Hur Herald, Sheriff Starcher said that he has received notification that Deputy Myers has been cleared by First Sergeant J. C. Saurino of the West Virginia State Police, following the shooting of Brian Lee Smith, who threatened and pulled a knife on Trooper First Class B. E. Young and Deputy Myers last week.

Deputy Myers had been placed on paid administrative leave, pending the outcome of the investigation. Sheriff Starcher said that Deputy Myers will be commencing his duties immediately.
