West Central Beekeepers Association members Dale Cunningham and Al Darman participated in the career day exposition at Calhoun High-Middle school held on April 8th.

They gave students an introduction to the art of beekeeping in West Virginia. The students ranged from kindergarten to fifth graders. Included in the participants was Mrs. Haught’s second grade class. The younger students enjoyed a cartoon show describing how honey is produced by bees in the beehive.

The older children were shown instructional videos on hive management. Handouts describing beekeeping in West Virginia were given to all participants.
