Appalachian Electric Power is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in a copper theft in Roane County.

Roane County deputies said copper valued at $17,000 was stolen from an AEP yard in Amma last weekend.

Deputies said that whoever did it appeared to have cut through the wire fence to get inside the property and stole five rolls of copper.

Anyone who has information is asked to call the Roane County Sheriff’s Office at 304-927-3410.
