UPDATE: POLICE SEARCHING IN GRANTSVILLE FOR MAN WHO FLED OFFICER - Man Fled On Hathaway Street Attempted Traffic Stop

UPDATE 2/8/2019 - Calhoun Sheriff Jeff Starcher said police were not able to locate the man who fled from a traffic stop in Grantsville Thursday night.

He indicated there was a person of interest related to the incident, the person wearing an orange hoodie and blue jeans.

2-7-2019 - Police were searching for a male suspect, likely accompanied by another person, following a traffic stop near dead-end Hathaway Street, South Grantsville, in Grantsville late Thursday night.

The suspect ran from a van about 9:15 p.m. after an attempt was made by Calhoun Deputy Sheriff CJ Myers to stop the vehicle.

The area into which the man fled is heavily wooded, a section that could lead toward Route 16, Bakers Mart, or an area on Route 7, Russett Road.

State Police officers and Calhoun Sheriff Jeff Starcher joined the search.
