FILING OPEN FOR GRANTSVILLE OFFICIALS

Filing starts Monday for the administration of Grantsville, the mayor, a recorder and five council seats.

The election is set for June.

Filing ends at midnight on January 26.

Filers must be residents of Grantsville for at least six months, and pay a filing fee.

Officials serve a two year term.

In 2017, longtime Calhoun educator Ron Blankenship was elected mayor of Grantsville, garnering 33 votes to his opponent Robert Petrovsky's 20 votes.

The five council members did not have opponents.

Grantsville, according to the US Census Bureau has 531 population in 2017.
