BRUTAL PARKERSBURG MURDER - A 19 year old man is behind bars after he admitted to stabbing and killing his mother at their home.

Parkersburg Police say the body of Carol Ann Kessler, 50, was found in her home Friday.

Police later found her vehicle at the Latrobe Street Mission along with her son, Jared Kessler covered in blood.

Kessler later admitted to police that he and his mother were having an argument and then things turned violent.

Police say Kessler admitted to stabbing his mother in the chest and abdomen several times and then cutting her throat.

Investigators say evidence gathered at the crime scene matches up with Kessler's confession.

Kessler is being charged with murder and is being held in the North Central Regional Jail.

MERCER STABBING - A Mercer County teenager was in custody Friday night after she allegedly stabbed her father-in-law.

According to Bluefield police, Lauren Clower, 19, of Bluefield, stabbed the 41-year-old man repeatedly with a pocketknife during an argument at around noon Friday.

Clower is charged with malicious wounding and is in jail. The victim was in critical condition Friday night at Charleston Area Medical Center.
