A Calhoun County man has been arrested after police said he slipped some prescription pills to an inmate who was appearing in Roane Circuit Court, according to Times Record/Roane County Reporter.

Timothy Lee Tallhammer (left) age 38, of Mount Zion was charged with delivery of a controlled substance to a person in custody.

The charges filed by Sheriff Todd Cole allege Tallhammer was in the courtroom Monday when he allegedly handed Klonopin capsules to Heather Dawn Starcher, a regional jail inmate who was in court to enter a plea. A bailiff immediately confiscated the three pills and Starcher's plea hearing was continued until another date.

Tallhammer was arraigned by Roane Magistrate Jason Bennett and lodged in the regional jail in lieu of $30,000 bond pending a preliminary hearing.
